Dr. Austin Casey

Dr. Casey completed his undergraduate studies in medical physics at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, LA. He went on to complete his medical education and residency in general adult psychiatry at Louisiana State University Health in Shreveport, LA. He was elected as the chief resident of education during his third year of residency and chief resident of administration during his fourth year.

He has special interests in the treatment of mood, psychotic, and personality disorders. He believes in an integrated approach to treatment that emphasizes psychotherapy in addition to medication management and has a special interest in psychodynamic approaches to evaluation and treatment.
