Caitlyn Herman, LPC, RN

Therapist

Caitlyn is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Registered Nurse (RN) and is trained to treat mental health and medical concerns. She received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at The University of Texas at Austin and a Master of Arts in Counseling at St. Edward’s University.

Prior to joining the CARMAhealth team, she practiced general nursing and served as the program therapist for an intensive outpatient program (IOP) at an agency that specialized in dual-diagnosis treatment for substance use disorders. She also held a private practice in which she conducted individual, group, couples, and family therapy sessions. Her approach to therapy is integrative, person-centered and inspired by Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), the most modern theory under the Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) umbrella.

She has a special interest in combining psychotherapy with medical treatments, particularly ketamine-assisted psychotherapy (KAP). She loves her work toward helping expand our knowledge in psychiatry and finding additional effective tools to improve mental health. She is passionate and intrigued by the growing field of psychedelic.
