Therapist

Caitlyn is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Registered Nurse (RN) and is trained to treat mental health and medical concerns. She received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at The University of Texas at Austin and a Master of Arts in Counseling at St. Edward’s University.

Prior to joining the Carma team, she practiced general nursing and served as the program counselor for an intensive outpatient program (IOP) treating substance use disorders. She also held a small private practice in which she conducted group, individual, couples, and family therapy sessions. Her approach to therapy is client-centered and inspired by Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).

She is also certified in a 5-point auricular acupuncture protocol utilized for substance use disorders that soothes cravings and promotes well-being. She has a special interest in combining psychotherapy with medical treatments such as transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) and ketamine-assisted psychotherapy (KAP). She is also very intrigued by the growing field of psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy.
