Where Neuroscience Meets Recovery

Dr. Robert Ulrich brings a distinctive perspective to addiction medicine, informed by more than two decades of clinical neurology practice. Board-certified in neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, he completed his neurology residency at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, where he served as Chief Resident.

After 20+ years in neurology, Dr. Ulrich recognized that many patients with neurological conditions also struggled with substance use disorders. In late 2022, he made a deliberate shift to focus his practice on addiction medicine, bringing a deep understanding of brain function and neurochemistry to the treatment of substance use disorders.

At CARMAhealth, Dr. Ulrich combines his neurology background with addiction medicine expertise to provide a uniquely informed approach to patient care. His knowledge of the central nervous system allows him to develop treatment plans that address both the neurological and behavioral components of recovery.
