Frequently Asked Questions About Our Services

No. You do not need a referral to schedule an appointment. You can call us directly at (512) 212-4670 or use our online scheduling to get started as a new patient.

A psychiatric practitioner is a medical practitioner who can diagnose conditions, prescribe medication, and oversee advanced treatments like TMS, Spravato, or ketamine therapy. A therapist provides talk therapy and counseling. At CARMAhealth, our board-certified practitioners lead your treatment plan, which may include both medication and therapy.

Many insurance plans cover TMS therapy for treatment-resistant depression. Spravato (esketamine nasal spray) is also commonly covered as an FDA-approved treatment. Generic ketamine (IV or IM) is typically not covered by insurance. Contact our team to verify your specific coverage.

Your first step is a psychiatric evaluation, where a board-certified practitioner assesses your symptoms, medical history, and treatment goals. Based on that evaluation, your practitioner will recommend a personalized treatment plan that may include medication, TMS, Spravato, ketamine therapy, or a combination.
